Download Press Release & FACT SHEET
Arts Council in Buffalo and Erie County
700 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14202
This exhibition features a selection of works by artists that have won NYFA SOS grants over the past year from the Arts Council in Buffalo & Erie County. Many of these artists have received grants for exhibition, promotional and travel opportunities to present their work locally or around the globe. Some artists have been able to leverage their SOS grant into additional career advancing opportunities beyond the initial award. A Fact Sheet outlining what each artist received funding for and how it benefited his or her career is available now. We encourage the media to take advantage of this unique event to learn more about the grant program and to promote the talent, caliber and excellence of these individual artists that reside within Western New York.
What is a NYFA SOS Grant?
NYFA Strategic Opportunity Stipends (SOS) grants are designed to help individual artists of all disciplines take advantage of specific, unique opportunities that will significantly benefit their work or career. These are $100-$600 grants for forthcoming opportunities (not necessarily projects) that are distinct from an artist's ongoing work. All the artists in the exhibition have received an SOS grant over the past year for unique career advancing artist opportunities. More information can be found at: http://www.artscouncilbuffalo.org/what_we_do/funding/sos.asp
